Working together to stop flooding

Text and drawing by Frits ahlefeldt

Communities need to work together to stop flooding under extreme weather, the classic way is to put up walls build of sandbags. This work often have to be done fast during bad weather as the flood approaches.

But it can actually in some ways help to strengthen local communities, when they get a chance to be active and help protect their community and city. Some even claim that the odds are that people will suffer less traumatic effects, if they get a chance to participate, instead of leaving everything to trained professionals
